UPSC Mains
It consists of written examination and interview (personality test). Civil Services Main Examination consists of nine papers divided into 2 categories – qualifying (Hindi & English Languages Papers) & papers to be counted for merit (7 papers).
Syllabus of UPSC Preliminary Examination (यूपीएससी प्रारंभिक परीक्षा का पाठ्यक्रम)
General Studies Paper-1 Syllabus
It has 100 questions broadly covering the following topics, carrying a maximum of 200 marks to be solved in 2 hours.
(1.) Current events of National & International importance.
(2.) History of India & Indian National Movement.
(3.) Indian & World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India & the World.
(4.) Indian Polity & Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
(5.) Economic & Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
(6.) General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity & climate change – that do not require subject specialization.
(7.) General Science, Science & Technology and recent technological development.
सामान्य अध्ययन पेपर-1 पाठ्यक्रम
इसमें मोटे तौर पर निम्नलिखित विषयों को कवर करने वाले 100 प्रश्न होते हैं, जिन्हें 2 घंटे में हल करने के लिए अधिकतम 200 अंक निर्धारित हैं।
(1.)राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व की समसामयिक घटनाएँ।
(2.) भारत का इतिहास और भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन।
(3.) भारतीय एवं विश्व भूगोल – भारत एवं विश्व का भौतिक, सामाजिक, आर्थिक भूगोल।
(4.) भारतीय राजनीति और शासन – संविधान, राजनीतिक व्यवस्था, पंचायती राज, सार्वजनिक नीति, अधिकार मुद्दे, आदि।
(5.) आर्थिक और सामाजिक विकास – सतत विकास, गरीबी, समावेशन, जनसांख्यिकी, सामाजिक क्षेत्र की पहल, आदि।
(6.) पर्यावरण पारिस्थितिकी, जैव-विविधता और जलवायु परिवर्तन पर सामान्य मुद्दे – जिनके लिए विषय विशेषज्ञता की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
(7.) सामान्य विज्ञान, विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी और हालिया तकनीकी विकास।
CSAT Paper-2 Syllabus
It comprises of 80 questions from the following topics carrying a maximum of 200 marks to be solved in 2 hour.
(1.) Comprehension.
(2.) Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
(3.) Logical reasoning & analytical ability.
(4.) Decision making & problem solving.
(5.) General mental ability.
(6.) Basic numeracy (numbers & their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level).
CSAT is a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. It is mandatory for a candidate to appear in both the Papers of the IAS Prelim Exam for the purpose of evaluation.
CSAT पेपर-2 सिलेबस
इसमें निम्नलिखित विषयों से 80 प्रश्न शामिल होते हैं, जिन्हें 2 घंटे में हल करने के लिए अधिकतम 200 अंक निर्धारित हैं।
(1.) बोधगम्यता (Comprehension)।
(2.) संचार कौशल सहित अंतर-वैयक्तिक कौशल (Interpersonal skills including communication skills)।
(3.) तार्किक कौशल एवं विश्लेषणात्मक क्षमता (Logical reasoning and analytical ability)।
(4.) निर्णय लेना और समस्या समाधान(Decision-making and problem-solving)।
(5.) सामान्य मानसिक योग्यता (General mental ability)।
(6.) आधारभूत संख्ययन (संख्याएँ और उनके संबंध, विस्तार-क्रम आदि) (दसवीं कक्षा का स्तर); आँकड़ों का निर्वचन (चार्ट, ग्राफ, तालिका, आँकड़ों की पर्याप्तता आदि- दसवीं कक्षा का स्तर) [Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. (Class X level)]
CSAT एक क्वालीफाइंग पेपर है जिसमें न्यूनतम क्वालीफाइंग अंक 33% निर्धारित हैं। मूल्यांकन के उद्देश्य से उम्मीदवार को आईएएस प्रारंभिक परीक्षा के दोनों पेपरों में उपस्थित होना अनिवार्य है।
